Feel-Good Flow: Yoga Fundraiser for Women's Reproductive Rights

Take time to practice self-care during these troubling times while contributing to the fight. Join us for a slow flow and restorative yoga practice in support of the Haven Coalition, a 501c3 non-profit made up of volunteers dedicated to supporting people traveling to New York City for abortions.

All levels are welcome, including beginners! Mats and props will be provided.

A message from Victoria:

"Ahimsa" is translated as non-violence or non-harming. It is the first principle of yoga listed in the ancient Sanskrit text: the yoga sutras and can be thought of as the #1 rule for practicing yoga. Ahimsa means taking care of and treating ourselves kindly. Ahimsa also means standing up to unjust systems that cause harm to others. I believe that prioritizing each of our mental, emotional, and physical well-being is essential for maintaining the momentum and energy we need to continue fighting for justice and equality for ourselves and others without becoming overwhelmed or paralyzed into a cycle of inaction. Come practice the balance of nourishing rest and radical action together in a community of like-minded people passionate about this mission. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Haven Coalition. - Victoria

About the Organization

The Haven Coalition is a group of volunteers who provide free overnight accommodations in their homes for women who come to New York City for second-trimester abortions that require going to the clinic on two consecutive days. Haven works in partnership with several clinics, including Choices Women's Medical Center. Haven's network makes it possible for many low-income women to get procedures they need up to 24 weeks -- procedures that may not be available in their home states.

Haven was founded 10 years ago by a woman who worked as a counselor at a New York City abortion clinic. One day, she asked a patient who came in for a two-day procedure, "where are you staying?" "In my car," the woman answered. "I have no money for a hotel." The counselor immediately called several of her friends and asked if they had a couch the woman could sleep on. She found a space for her -- and Haven was born.

About Victoria

Victoria Wolfgang is a yoga teacher (ERYT-200, Functional Ashtanga 500-hr, Rocket Vinyasa 100-hr) ipec certified wellness coach (CPC) artist, and writer. She has bachelor's degrees in both biology and psychology and has always been fascinated by the mind-body connection.

Victoria discovered yoga in 2015 when it helped her find relief from chronic social anxiety and sensorimotor challenges related to childhood trauma and undiagnosed neurodivergence (Autism & ADHD). Yoga transformed her life by calming her hyperactive mind and helping her develop physical and mental fortitude.

As a dedicated ashtangi and multi-passionate movement enthusiast Victoria appreciates the benefits of both a systematic, scientifically-informed approach to movement, as well as exploratory variation in movement aimed at entering a mental state of creative flow. She is honored to hold supportive space for others in the mysore room, led classes, and private sessions. Her background as a martial artist, conscious dance practitioner, and former medical health researcher, informs her creative vinyasa sequences.

Victoria aims to plant mindful seeds in vigorous yet playful classes designed to help people cultivate strength, functional mobility, self-awareness, and a more joyful connection with their bodies. She holds the ancient origins of yoga in great respect and weaves yogic philosophy concepts into her classes, believing that a more inclusive and equitable world begins with each individual's self-care and self-study (svadhyaya).
